stopper mod
HI all going to tackle the stopper mod and this might be a stupid question but how do i work out what length of rod i need ,any help would be great

Re: stopper mod
A micrometer is the what I used, where it has a pointy bit that can go inside and get an exact measurement. Otherwise you will need to come up with another solution like putting a long nail or screw inside and making a score mark on it. Or you could just grind/cut a bit of the 8mm bar or whatever you are using as a stopper, a bit at a time until it fits snug and you can put the roll pin back in the end bit.
Have good read through the stop mod http://www.vtr1000.org/phpBB3/viewtopic ... 31&t=19416
and how to set the timing http://www.vtr1000.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=8326

I use a cheap digital vernier caliper, but you can use a steel rule if you stick the 8mm bar into the CCT and measure ho much is sticking out.

You can get them cheap enough on ebay.

Re: stopper mod
Lay in some spare batteries, though, as cold and damp do them in really quickly unless you have a heated garage.
But you can pick up 10 batteries for £4, so just keep a load ready to hand.

It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
Re: stopper mod
Easy to remember if you connect it to a brake calipercybercarl wrote:That's what I mean not Micrometer (just slapping myself around the headvernier caliper) I always get the names of those two mixed up

You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.
