Help! - Feed for Heated Grips Relay
I'm finishing off my heated grips. I hate all the mess around your battery when you add accessories so I've mounted the connectors, relay and control unit inside the seat fairing (where there is loads of useful space) at the side of the starter relay and I'm pleased you can see none if it!
My last issue is where to power the new relay from so it only comes on with the ignition. I'm not brilliant with electrics, but could I use the supply to the starter relay as my new one is right at the side? I've also found the supply for the rear brake light, the indicator relay and a whole bunch of wires at the rear of the seat that might do, too, but they're not so close.
Where is best to take a supply from?
J

Assuming you ride "lights on" how about the rear light?
Two bikes, still only four cylinders!

They are all the time when ignition is on, it was the feed to the brake light switch that I tapped into.

yeh rear brake light switch live is best imo as its conveniently close to the battery and always on with ignition.
get yourself one of these - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/400094914559? ... 1438.l2649
saves a lot of messin - you can then use the live to feed all your accessories

You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.
