clutch plates ?

Post by lloydie »

i have my clutch out and measured the plates as it was slipping at high revs .

friction plates 3.8mm in service limit :D
steel plates 1.9mm how ever i cant find the service limits in the manual 8O
springs 47.5mm in service limit :D

my question is what is the size and service limit of the steel plates ?

I don't think there are any service limits as such. Just check to make sure they are not warped or have any Blueing on the surface.

No bluing :-) just Golding .
Think I will just stick them back in with new oil and see if it still slips !

If the plates are all ok then stick some new springs in, regardless of measurements they will be weaker than when new. And they're cheap

Try uprated springs, you can't feel any difference at the lever.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

A Honda dealer for std ones, which should be good enough, or EBC do H/D springs for most bikes.

EBC springs
