fuel light

Post by scouse645 »

Hi, i know the question about the fuel light has probably been asked before but i couldn't find the answer, how many miles approx do i have after the light comes on? i have a 1999 model so its the smaller tank, i would think.

fuel light

Hello and welcome

In all honesty it's down to how you ride .
Take a full jerry can with you on a ride and when the light comes on reset the trip and ride as you do normally until it runs out of fuel .
That will be the only way you know how many miles YOU get on the red light .

I think they're looking for after the reserve light comes on :)

I dunno, mine always has some red light blinking on the dashboard and the previous owner didn't complain about a short range

Thanks all for that info, i think i can take it that its not a good idea to go too far after the light is on.

i see many discussion on the mileage after getting the fuel light.
but my issue is the fuel light itself not working, could it be a faulty sender unit ?

Sory mate only on phone until tonight so not so easy! Basically the wire that comes from the sender needs to be earthed to bike frame with ignition on obviously. Someone may post images up before tonight
