electrical work

Post by scouse645 »

Hi, i think this has probably been asked before but can't find the answer at the moment, when working on the electrical system and taking parts off should i disconnect the battery or take the main fuse out? or both? thanks for any replies.

Depends on what you are doing. You may want battery power if testing for lives and earth's (+ & -). If your cutting wires and there is a risk of a wire touching the frame or something and shorting out, then just disconnect the battery earth.

Well disconnect the earth then, until your ready to stick a multimeter on and test the output.
