Making levers...

Post by Ckennedy »

I was just sat on the loo and a thought came to me. I have been after some short brake and clutch levers for a while but never found any I really like. Any way my thought was.... how about making a pair. Has anyone attempted this and have any tips? What kind of ally would you use? Would not mind giving this a try and it will give me something to work at.

They look nice and utilitarian. They would go well with a pebbledashed engine and a rusty chrome finish!

Listen the pebbledashed thing is like a Golf ball, it helps with airflow.

Levers I would have thought would be quite tricky to cut out. Wouldn't you need a CNC cutter and nice block of metal. There would be quite a lot of wastage which is why I expect good quality levers are so expensive.

Well I was going to try it all by hand, if I do it of course. Good old hacksaw and a file or 2. Made a rather fancy bottle bottle opener that way. Got to have another project at some point haha
