Re: Stiff Forks
Defo start by replacing the oil. I am presuming the oil seals are still intact.

Maybe they overfilled the oil when they fitted different springs I know its a standard upgrade because they are as soft as shite from standard.
Im just keeping my fingers crossed some tw@ hasnt bent them doing wheelies, typical sunday rider crap.
Re: Stiff Forks
If you have had new springs in , I guess they just chucked the sprigs and oil in and left it at that. Did they get you to sit on the bike and take measurements for setting the static sag.Maybe they overfilled the oil when they fitted different springs I know its a standard upgrade because they are as soft as shite from standard.

Oh and I take it your talking about the Firebalade, for anyone that maybe reading this.

Re: Stiff Forks
as has been said already, they should be too soft, so either they are:
1) fitted with seriously heavy springs for the previous owner
2) someone has cocked up the oil filling and put too much oil in [it should be 140mm air gap, but thi sis with the springs removed and the legs fully compressed. if you have the springs in or the forks fully extended they will have no working air gap and will hydraulic lock
3) they are binding due to misaligned clamps or axle. to fix this you need to slacken off the lower yoke clamps and the axle clamp but leave the tps tightended. then bounce the forks up & down on the springs and twist side to side then tighten the botom yoke, then bounce more and tighten the axle.
