Bonzo Dog Doodah Band

Post by tony.mon »

Viv Stanshall lives round this way, and was in the papers the other day.

He was in the baker's, just him and the baker, and asked him about Birthday cake designs.
While the baker was out the back getting his designs book, Viv wolfed down several croissants from the display.

The baker noticed this when he came back; Viv said it wasn't him, police were called, they spotted a ring of flaky pastry crumbs all around where Viv was standing, and nicked him.

It went to court last week, but the judge let him off- apparently the only evidence was circum Stanshall.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

 Groan...

That joke was a bit crumbly...

Not quite the truth either...

Second reunion (1988)

Various members of The Bonzos (including Stanshall and Innes) reconvened in 1988 to record a new single, "No Matter Who You Vote For the Government Always Gets In (Heigh Ho)". The recording was meant to tie in with a current British election, but was not released at the time; instead, the single came out just prior to the next British general election in 1992.

Coincidentally, one of the Bonzos' song titles, "Cool Britannia", was revived as a media label for late 1990s United Kingdom under Tony Blair.

The "No Matter Who You Vote For" single was Stanshall's final recording with the band; he died in a house fire in 1995.

Good well crafted effort though.
Making up since 2007, sometimes it's true...Honest...
