So which one of these do you feel I violated : vulgar, defamatory, racist, homophobic, inaccurate, harassing, hateful, or threatening and why do you feel that way?

why don,t you explain why you feel that way

Re: Just a little irish sunbathing
Well maybe you're racist to call me that as I am Irish.......macdee wrote:well racist would do for a start

Sure I'm a 'Merican but you trace my family history and we are Irish\Manx...... Yes the last name is Ramsey just like the town.
So I don't know how you do this on that side of the pond but over here it is not racist to make fun of your own race.....
and if we really use the definition of racist..... then is it really racist for a Caucasian to make a joke or poke fun at another Caucasian?
Tough it sounds like your issue is more of a nationality thing than a race issue.
I really am not trying to over step my bounds, as I am the "FNG" but maybe you should grow a little thicker skin, see humor for what it is and just lighten up a bit.....life is much better that way.

Re: Just a little irish sunbathing
if your Irish then that would be hard to call you a racist
where in Ireland where you born and raised
as for the humor side of things i can see the joke but can you explain why the irish have to be the brunt of it
why not yourselves

Re: Just a little irish sunbathing
Give the man a break he's the wombles new guy (I love the swear filters
) it's a light hearted joke and he still needs to get used to the humour around here. You can't seriously be offended by that. I tell you what, stick a Yankee doodle doo one up and call it quits

I will point you to sentence #2 in my post and will also try to explain it to you once again...... (though you are making us look bad.....lol)macdee wrote:if your Irish then that would be hard to call you a racist

I am an American with Irish\Manx ancestors... Being a country where everyone came here from somewhere else we tend to identify with where we came from.
So I guess in a way you are correct that if you were not born and raised Ireland, you're not Irish but that is a bit of an elitist attitude in my book.
Plus I know a few families here where the parents were born and raised in Ireland and would have words with you if you told them their children, who were born here, are not Irish.
Then again every Irish (born and raised) immigrant I have met here has taken to me as one of there own right away.....so I guess they don't have the same issues that you do.
Then if you have issues you also need to come up with the correct term.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Racism
Racism is usually defined as views, practices and actions reflecting the belief that humanity is divided into distinct biological groups called races and that members of a certain race share certain attributes which make that group as a whole less desirable, more desirable, inferior or superior.[1][2][3]
I am a Caucasian. The person I made fun of is Caucasian, so explain to me how that is racist?
As for your last point of why the Irish and not yourselves.......
You do realize that you are now saying we're different....... so what does that make you?
But in truth the joke would not be funny if it was titled "A little California Sunbathing" and as I identify as Irish\American, if I made fun of anyone other than Americans or Irish someone might call me a racist......

these family's you speak of ,i would have no problem talking to them this can be arranged through a pm if you like
or they could speak to my Irish ,Irish/american relatives in and around New York , phili ,Boston ,Detroit , California areas
as for the correct term feel free to point out the pc term i would need to be using
As for your last point of why the Irish and not yourselves.......\ well can you explain then why its funny because its an Irish person in fact while your at it do some research and tell me why the Irish are used as the fall guy ,
can you say for sure that the girl in the photo is Irish did you take the photo or know the person in the photo ?
when all is said and done no one knew of your Irish connections when you posted so why would it not have been funny if you where to us an other nationality
which brings me to this .
(You do realize that you are now saying we're different....... so what does that make you?)

Re: Just a little irish sunbathing
Hey buddy ...I thought that funny , not offensive at all .. I am married to an Irish colleen
( female from Ireland ) and I showed her this picture we both really laughed ...
but that poor lady could have been well burnt .. my wife is very fair skinned and has to
watch out for the sun rays and use top factor creams etc .it also reminds us of the need to
be very very carefull X 87... of the power of the sun and reminded us of our holidays
in Rimini , in the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy where it gets very hot in Summertime

HEY YOU GUYS!!!!!!
Re: Just a little irish sunbathing
This is a tough one.... on one hand I just want to sit an laugh at how silly this is.... I mean being called a racist for making fun of a nationality, which is made up of people of the same race, is not something that happens very often.... at least not over here.
On the other hand I do want to tell this other member what I really think of them as I now believe he is calling me a liar.
How else should I take the fact that I am asked to PM info on my friends to prove I know them.
Then there is the issue that he is calling folks racist and then turns around and says people are different if they are born in different places........ not that we are all the same, maybe from different places but still the same.
So who really is the racist?
For my final word on this silly assed discussion..... I explained how things are in this country...... How we identify where we are from, That is just how it is.......I mean why else would there be a Dublin,Ca?
It is how we live our lives.
When I told my room mate about being called a racist, her reply was "But you are Irish" .......though I guess as I am not to be trusted in telling the truth so I should post up her info so it can be checked if she really said that...... yeah right.
So if you want to piss and moan about how everyone is picking on you, fine, that is your right.
If you want to say I'm not Irish because of where I was born, fine also....you are a long ways from me, though it would be wise not to say that to my face,
Have a great day and carry on.
