Help please any boffins

Post by seb421 »

Right now i've got two aquariums and three snake vivariums the heat in my room when its a warm day is unreal!!

Window Open, Door Open, Fan on room was an indicated 27c which is just bonkers uncomfortable and also meant the snakes may have trouble thermoregulating as they should be able to get down to 25 or 26 if they want in there viv's cool end

I'm looking to fit an extractor fan to my door and somehow wire it up to a switch that will turn on at say 21c to help pull some heat out the room as i can't leave the window open during the day if i'm out as their is the risk of theft (downstairs room) and the neighbours cats getting in again

Can anyone link to me to a temperature controlled switch thing that i can wire into the extractor plug thing

All i want is a unit that will activate over a given temp over 21c turn on, under 21c turn off etc

Massive kudos points to anyone that can point me in the direction of the correct product for me

You should be able to buy a room stat and wire the +ive wire through that, its only a switch so would do whats needed. Depending on the current draw on the fan you may need to run the stat through a relay so you don't blow the stat.

Failing to get the stat sorted you could spend your days sitting by the tanks with a water bottle with a misting jet. This has one added benefit, its burglar proof
