Post by ninja636109 »

Has anyone who has fitted manual cam chain tensioners noticed a difference in noise from the engine?
I have just read the fitting guide and noticed it says there will be a difference in engine noise why is this ?

Mainly due to the fact the standard Honda ones will adjust automatically as the loads change during the engine cycle.

Kreiger ( USA ).. manual CCTs were fitted to mine at 19K , no additional noises .. in fact less noise
than the Honda originals and they have stayed that way

That 5-7mm free play is the total up & down movement of the cam chain

They can change the tone of the engine, especially when cold. But there is also the chance that your hearing things that you didn't hear from before as you wasn't listening for it. A bit like not seeing a particular vehicle on the roads and then you buy one and all of a sudden you see them everywhere.
