Has anyone who has fitted manual cam chain tensioners noticed a difference in noise from the engine?

manual cam chain tensioners noise
Re: manual cam chain tensioners noise
Mainly due to the fact the standard Honda ones will adjust automatically as the loads change during the engine cycle.

I didn't notice any difference to my vtr, did you set chain free play to 5-7mm ??

That 5-7mm free play is the total up & down movement of the cam chainadewhitmarsh wrote:I didn't notice any difference to my vtr, did you set chain free play to 5-7mm ??

They can change the tone of the engine, especially when cold. But there is also the chance that your hearing things that you didn't hear from before as you wasn't listening for it. A bit like not seeing a particular vehicle on the roads and then you buy one and all of a sudden you see them everywhere.
