titax preload adjusters

Post by agentpineapple »

has anyone fitted these?
I went to fit them today, but I can't get them to fit, ... :x
I've bought the correct ones, and I don't want to take a dremmel to them to get them to fit, maybe sticking them in some boiling water before trying to fit them might help, plus a little wd40.
any advice guys.....

That's my first thought too. Look on the side Marty you will see a little tiny hex head screw that tightens to hold them in place.

Should have bought Loosax ones.

I thought titax being a well known brand would mean an easy fit....
I really can't see another way other than to heat them up gently

There is another way.
Donate them to the "bucket of useful bits" in my garage and sooner or later they will resurface as a bracket, spacer, piece of packing, conversation piece, "guess the thing" round at a quiz, or objet d'art.
Unless they are anodised a peculiar colour, of course. In fact, any colour other than metal.
I often wonder whether anodising is really fooling anyone.

What colour are your ill-fitting ones, AP?

Perhaps the thickness of the anodising is causing the problem......should have chosen a thinner colour.

Ooooh, oooh, oooh forgot possibility that it might make a useful table leg like the old knackered V8 engine cases on Top Gear.
Although I might need a few more, or something of a similar size.

Buy more, in the hope that one will eventually fit, give up and donate them all.

Not in purple.

Or pink.

Actually, I'll just have them bead blasted, whatever's cheapest; I don't want to you to go to trouble on my account- although I won't be letting you access my account details, so you can't.
Even though it's you, AP, and you're special.

And so are your needs.
