on a run out today and noticed oil on the thread of the cct bolt. it was quite wet with it and guessing this is prob not good.
is it likely to be a seal or buggered?

Nah it will be fine. Just some oil finding its way up the thread. maybe worth loosening off a quarter turn apply some thread lock around the thread as it goes into the body and nip it back up a quarter turn again.

Everything good is bad

If manual CCT's then It's likely to be a lack of sealant around the the thread when they where installed. Set the rear cylinder to RT on the compression stroke, slowly loosen of the bolt counting the turns, apply a dab of liquid gasket sealant around the base of the thread and tighten back up the same amount of turns.
If standard ccts then undo the bolt at the end, apply some sealant and put the bolt back on.
