Welcome jimmy. I take it you bought an orange one?

Post up where you live and if you need someone to listen to it there may be someone local to help.

Best confirm it isn't CCT rattle before you go too far, or get a stopper mod done to be safe

welcome to the forum buddy, if it is cct rattle, do not ride the bike, I would even suggest not starting it either, as AL said, do the stopper mod, or fit manual cct's.
fingers crossed it's nothing serious....

Don't think it's serious as it was running fine before, will create a new thread in the correct section and post a vid and see if we can hear it., think I might just fit manual ones anyway, time to look on eBay me thinks. AMcQ46 I bought a black one with white wheels off a member on here shauned71.Oh by the way I live in Hodge Hill, Birmingham.

Nice bike that. IIRC the stopper mod has been done to the bike already so you should be safe to ride. It's doesn't mean they can't fail though. But if they do they should not cause any damage and you will still be able the limp the bike home. One of the problems with doing a stopper mod, if using old tensioners then doing the mod will disturb things and can push an already weak spring over the edge that it needs to fail.

Welcome to the group. Plenty of people local to you. There's one or 2 in and around brum, same again in Cov and a few of us around Leicestershire. Hope you get it sorted before the sun comes out for real

:( That's the one thing I didn't do Carl... The mod was the last thing I was planning to do but on the run in to him picking the bike up I have been flat out in work plus been suffering with a bad chest again thanks to ridiculous amounts of filler/dust work I have been doing lately. Had spoken to Jimmy on the phone in length and we talked about the cct's... he is mechanical minded and had looked into this.. fair play he had done some research on the bike before having this one.

I'm sure he will be more precise but can tell you he's in the Birmingham area, if there is anyone around that way how could have a listen if he is stuck that would be great... would be there in a flash myself if he was more local.

Last to add, mate of mine, also a stormer was at my garage when Jimmy came down.. the pair of them went for a quick squirt around the block so Jimmy could try the bike.... grin like a cheshire cat when he returned

Thanks for the great welcome, I've just been over and started up the bike, and thankfully the rattling noise seems to have gone. I've had it upto temperature and it seems fine. The only thing I can think of is because the bike has been sitting for a while and it was its first run for a while. When I gave it some stick the auto CCT must have stuck and when it cooled down it released again. I will take it for a proper run soon and let you all know the outcome. I will still be fitting manual CCT's soon.

I'm afraid the auto ccts either work or fail (causing catastrophic engine damage) so I'd get the stopper mod done asap or swap to manuals as soon as you can.

Then see if the rattle has gone
