Ignition advancer ?

Hi there i was wondering if anybody knew where to get hold of a 4 deg ignition advancer and if its even worth getting one , do they work well , what sort of performance gains will i get ? thanks .

2bhp mine gives but to be honest I wouldn't bother unless you can find one cheap

Yep, do it, but only if your'e also tuning other areas such as airbox, high comp pistons, gasflowing heads etc.
It'll make it run hotter so be prepared to also fit additional cooling, such as a four row oil coolers.

But as part of a tuned engine, worth it.

Only, of course, if you already have forks, shocks and brake upgrades- they come first.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

+1 good suspension and brakes beats outright horsepower every time

thats not to say that once you have said suspension and brakes, a little added BHP is a bad thing :biggrin

All that sh1t just confused the hell out of me , ive just been in touch with roger ditchfield and enquired about the 150 bhp work lol , thats more brake than a 2001 r1 :) im tempted .

Your better off just buying an R1. Your wallet will thank you

Did you really think that bolting on an ignition advancer would be all that there was to it?
If it was that easy we'd all have one fitted already.

Re the 150 Bhp engine upgrade- the easy bit is enquiring, the hard bit is paying for it, and keeping it running properly. And you still need chassis and brake work.

But frankly I can't see why you would, when you can just buy a modern bike which does everything much better for the same money.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
