Pillion Setup
Pillion Setup
Could anyone please tell me what to set the rear spring height to to carry a pillion weighing about 60-65kg. At present for me alone it is set to the 3rd notch. Note rear shock is completely standard.

Re: Pillion Setup
Whenever my girlfriend comes with me (probably just less than 60kg kitted up) I go up one notch on the preload, and screw in a 1/4 turn of damping on the shock and the fork tops too. I find that keeps everything acting in a similar manner to when I'm solo.
I'm also on the third notch usually, so hope that gives you a reference to try at least.

Whats a "Pillion"
sorry couldn't resist that. Standard spring on any bike i had i just clicked the preload another 2 clicks. And then turned it back off at the end of the trip. Easy and didn't ever forget! Kept a spare spring spanner under the seat.

missing the noise, not the vibes. However never say never!

Agree with above, a bit of extra preload for the weight, but more damping to control the forces. Never bother with changing the front thought
