Before I tear the bike down for a head gasket repair (endless white smokey exhaust!!) ... what else should I order on the parts list?
a. Head Bolts grouppo? I'm not sure how many times these head bolts have been used. Are they the torque to yield variety, or can they be safely reused with the holes cleaned up of oil or liquid.
Liquid gasket goop? RTV ?
b. New oil filter, and oil.
c. Coolant inspection, drain and fill.
Other than the head gasket, what else?
Re: Other than the head gasket, what else?
You can re-use head bolts.
Nothing else, just what you see when you're in there- check the head for cracks (never seen one on these, but still, check)
Check valve guides- they can crack, too.
Check valve stem seals- while you're there you might as well- use genuine Honda ones. You don't have to disturb guides and stem seals, you can leave the valves in the head- up to you.
And while you're there you may as well check valve clearances.

It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
