Exhaust Rivets?

Post by Boubepo »

I'm looking to re-pack my exhausts - Does anyone have any idea of the size of gas sealed rivets I will need?

It will be the first time I've done this job - So any top tips would also be appreciated :)

Thanks in advance

I believe Cybercarl did a little write up on repacking cans.

I've done it recently and used 4mm rivets and a LOT more packing material than anticipated

Carlos! You about? :)

Did I :confused I may have posted some snippets in the What have I done to my bike today thread.

I shall see what I can find. Can't remember what size rivets I used now. A cone cutter works really well for drilling the old rivets. Stainless rivets are pretty tough to drill out so you need a good bit.

Make sure you buy blind rivets, the other type have a hole through....
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
