Nice idea
.
Chances are when the seals go it's time to change the oil anyway .
But I see the advantages of keeping one under the seat so if one do pop you can sort it to get you home

One guy was saying that he sorts out seals on a regular basis (mechanic)
He has found it tends to be dirt has got in and allows some oil to seep out
Can always make one

I bought one, not used it yet so I cant tell you if it works.
Re: fixing leaky fork seals quickly

cant be much of a long term repair ?

Have done this a lot of times and works well. I use and old credit card.
But if the seal is stuffed it wont fix it. So if your bike has 50,000 miles on it dont expect it to work.

or you can make one from a plastic Sprite/ coke bottle.
Personally I think it's more likely to be of use to a dirt bike rider, in my experience when a seal goes on a road bike its because its worn out or the stanchion has got a bit of wear
