Please help me be lazy...

Post by Bleh »

So, the pace of life is rapidly increasing and with everything I've got going on at the moment, trapsing the net for hours looking for the best places to purchase tidy bits is a requirement but so so awkward to get around to doing at the moment (damn you priorities... damn you!).

I am therefore hoping that you lovely people can recommend good companies you may have used in the past please?! Here's what my problems are...

Firstly, rectifier has given up on me. I have confirmed this by replacing with a CBR 6 FS rectifier I have here and am going to have to leave it in place for now because I need the bike! I am at least getting charge back into the battery but do not want to depend on it for long at all! So need to replace with a MOSFET upgrade asap!

Secondly, I'm losing juice (quickly, getting backfire upon start recently but runs like a dream so ruling out valve wear) and am suspecting the carbs and lines are in need of replacing/ servicing. While I'm there, I may as well upgrade the gubbings. Will likely get the seals from Dave Silver but if anyone can recommend a decent kit and place of purchase, that would be helpful. Also, somewhere that does decent fuel lines. M&P's stuff rots quicker than an apple full of maggots! Even if someone has a set of carbs already set up for a reasonable price... That may be tempting.

But yeah, Stormy isn't very well and I need her to be well to look after me on the road!

As always, any help is massively appreciated and I thank you in advance.

It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

Thanks for that one (mosfet r/r), I have messaged the seller to see what can be sorted (duties etc.).
