Wiring from Combination meter to Cluster

Post by bazza696 »

I am looking at fitting an aftermarket digital display on the storm, and don't want to cut into the original wiring on the bike as I would like to re-install the original dash if I sell the bike, therefore I am after the wiring from what Honda call the combination meter(6pin and 9pin connector) to the back of the instrument cluster.

I have looked on ebay to buy a complete wiring loom, but I though I would check on here before I proceed.

Here you go mate, this place should have everything you require to make a neat hot swappable setup. Small family run business with 1st class service. I bought an instrument panel connector block and other bits from them.

So what aftermarket dash have you got then? I don't like having to pick spade terminals out of connector blocks. I discovered a tool for bending the tabs to allow them to be removed.

I am looking at the Koso RX1N or RX2N see below link, have not bought it yet, just planning the woring to see if i can use all the functions and get a shopping list ie, new water temperature sender, the cyclinfer head temperature sender, RPM wire setup etc.

Have the dimnesions from the fitting instructions, so I can get the fairing off over the winter and see if she will fit in.

but the one that goes up to 10K rpm.

so all in the planning stage at the moment.

Bazza I have an old loom that has had the rear indicators wiring butchered. I've nicked the TPS plug off it as well but the clock end of the loom is untouched.

Yours if it's any good to you.

As long as the front end of the loom is intact, it will be perfect.

Let me know postage cost and I will reimburse.

You have the female connector at the back of the clocks already, so I would have thought you would need the male to go in that, no need to go chopping your loom up. You can then have your wiring from the Koso going straight into the male plug/corresponding wiring on the female connector on the main wiring loom. Hope that makes sense.

I will just bring the more reliable bike if its raining as hard as it was last year, or maybe a hovercraft instead.
