change ride hight
change ride hight
Can anyone tell me or have pics How to change ride height on the storm thanks
Re: change ride hight
Get the front forks sorted first (ideally Rogered) and then stick a spacer in for the rear shock.
It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

Re: change ride hight
+1 are you wanting to lower it because of short leg syndrome or raise it for sharper turn in?sirch345 wrote:Higher or lower![]()

Re: change ride hight
rogered forks droped 5 mm,and 6mm spacer above rear shock transformes the turn in and puts an extra inch on seat hight
Re: change ride hight
I've got rogered forks also with 5mm pull through and height adjustable penske shock set equal to 6 mm spacer. Well recommendedcountrymick wrote:rogered forks droped 5 mm,and 6mm spacer above rear shock transformes the turn in and puts an extra inch on seat hight

Rogered Forks First, then better shock with ride height if you can
missing the noise, not the vibes. However never say never!
Re: change ride hight
Well I will add my experiences on this as I am also 6'3".
I ran the forks pulled up for a long time but changed things a few years back.
IMHO the bike already has limited ground clearance and it is quite easy to drag the header in right hand corners. This is bad for a couple of reasons.
With that in mind, I went back to the stock ride height in the front.
This will give you added clearance and the bike will turn just as quickly.
The reason for this, before you all say I'm mad, is that the higher CG with the forks at the stock height makes the bike transition from side to side faster than a bike with a lower CG.
This makes up for the milder rake and trail numbers you get from leaving the forks in the stock location. Another benefit is the bike is more stable because of those milder rake and trail numbers..
I will say that each person will "like" there own set up as we each ride differently but don't be afraid to make small changes to see what happens and don't just run a suspension set up because "everyone else" else is running it.

Loud pipes don't save lives, knowing how to ride your bike will save your life.
Re: change ride hight
I ended up taking the 6mm spacer out and putting a 3mm in. I also have the forks dropped 5mm. Standard rear shock
and 90% Rogered forks

Re: change ride hight
In which case getting your front forks upgraded first, before putting more load on the already under sprung front end by fitting a rear shock spacer would be a very good move (Roger Ditchfield at http://www.revolutionuk.co.uk did mine, I posted them to him. What a difference that made).thomas111 wrote:Thanks guys Wanting to raise it am 6"4 so want a wee bit higher if possible
