another bolt question

Post by agentpineapple »

cheers lloydie........

another question.....
i want to change the bolts from the rear subframe to the exhaust hanging brackets, atm i'm using long bolts and spacers to space the cans out so i can use a givi rack system, my question is this, at the moment i'm using 70mm s/s bolts with 40mm alloy spacers, I've got hold of some 30mm nylon spacers which are a better length for my purposes, but could i use a 60mm alloy bolt, it has to take the weight of the two brothers end can and hanging bracket.
or should i stick to s/s, i can't afford ti atm.... :(

If I understand what's on offer here it's the standard hanger to exhaust strap bolts your talking about bsabloke.

Marty's talking about the the ones that hold the hanger to the subframe. Which are normally cap head bolts he just wants longer as he's spacing them out.

+ I don't think he has std hangers anyway.

macs right, subframe to hangers, high level two brothers hangers, going to have to be s/s for strength, 50mm min length, ordered these for under £4 delivered, not flashy but they'll do the job.
