Remove any trick bits and sell as standard then sell on trick bits as they won't really make it worth more! I'd say in standard trim £1500 Max but as with anything this only worth what someone will pay and not a great time to sell :( . Good luck with whatever you do mate

really hard to value storms atm, people seem to price according to age and mileage, where condition is more important, imho i'd say between 1250 to 1500. ultimately it will be worth what the market dictates, good luck with the sale, fingers crossed you can keep it buddy.

Dont get your hopes up.

I have a '97 26k up at 1200 & know one want that...

If you want a really quick needs must sale put on the bay starting @ £800 & hope two people start bidding against each other.

Failing that I'll give you £500 cash for it...

I had a couple last year that came with similar trick bits on. I converted both to near standard before selling (after a few hundred miles ). The bikes in standard trim went for about £1250 and there is about £300 - £400 in the trick bits - minus about £100 for used standard parts. And about a day or so to swap stuff over.

I would say the trick bits add no value to the bike. i.e. i bought one of the above for £1200, stripped high cans, racetec tyres, rear sets, clip ons, hugger, undertray, maxtom forks, belly etc. and sold for £1250 as standard on ebay.

many people love a completely standard and unmolested bike, little do they know there bikes have been stripped of all the add ons, I sold a very standard r-reg with 18k on the clock for £1700 last summer, I think it only had a db screen and renntec grab rail, but it was a mint 2 owner from new bike.

as stated above aftermarket parts don't really add a great deal to the value, I tried to sell mine a few months ago '97 30k loads of history etc with some nice bits and bobs on it, I was asking £1250 and got no interest at all so I removed all the aftermarket bits (fork springs, belly pan, DB screen, Microns etc etc) and sold them separately then advertised it for £1099 now I did get some interest but even then I was getting offers of £600 -£700, eventually I sold it for £1050 which if you add on the money from selling the bits separately I ended up with a bit more than I'd originally wanted so I was pretty happy.
The point is it is very difficult to put an accurate value on a VTR (or indeed any bike over 10 yrs old), you do see them for sale with prices of £1500 plus but are they selling ? I don't think so, the best plan is to be realistic but don't accept the first silly offer you get.
I've now gone all European and bought a KTM Superduke GT and Aprilia RSV1000R :D ,
Storm is now gone  .

considering it's winter, storm prices are very strong, maybe people have realised how good a bike they really are. but as budd said, asking for big money, and getting it are two different things.
