oil filter preferences

Post by agentpineapple »

I've got to do an oil and filter change, and i'm interested to know what brand of oil filter you prefer.
in the past I've used k&n and hi-flo filters, and both have served me well, or at least as far as I can tell.
but this time i'm tempted to go for a genuine Honda filter, or is this just a waste of money?
I like to change my oil once a year approx. 5000 miles, and for the sake of a few extra quid I always do a filter at the same time.
so what do you use, and have you had good or bad experiences with certain filters.
Honda
k&n
hi-flow
are there any other brands worth trying?

The motul and filter is a winner .
Sometimes you get a k&n or champion or a hiflo.
Last time I got a champion but this time I got a k&n for the bird

Champion, same for air filter. No real reason why to use over hiflo, I just trust the brand.

oem filter seems to me waste of money, last one I bought was made in EU, looking similar to champion ...

I just use a fresh sheet of quality kitchen roll wrapped around the old filter & secured with some gaffer tape. Lasts a couple of 1000miles job done
