I'm new !!!
I'm new !!!
Hi all, I'm Parsley and I'm a rideaholic , that's that out of the way !!! I have been in denial for over 40 years ! I moved over form inline 4s only this year, I'm a retired bike mechanic, (but not retirement age)so I'll offer as much help as I can , I'm in the North Walsham, Norfolk area , I have a orange repsol storm and love it ,my wife has a Yamaha YX600 modified and tuned by me,my boys are bikers as well lewi has an Aprilia 1000 Milli R, My oldest Lee shares my Storm & has an ESD & a lovely old X7,restored by me & him.ive been reading some of the posts while waiting for my account to be activated, one about hi level exhaust brackets, if the author still needs templates, I can help with that, the other about charging, regulator/rectifier, I don't want to jump in & be mr know it all because everyone hates a smart Alec , I'd just like to point out that if you are experiencing over charging by as little as 5 volts the CDI will be fried & will take the appearance of chinese crispy duck! They are expensive to replace.anyway that's me , if you spot an orange streak along the Norwich southern bypass it's probably me, I'll try & get some pics up of my bike shortly . cheers Parsley

Welcometo the forum Parsley

Re: I'm new !!!
Welcome
I'll translate for those who don't know the older bikes
YX600 is a Yamaha 600 Radian, USA bike mainly so would have been imported, it's basically an old XJ600 (pre diversion) in sort of flat track/semi custom style.
ESD Is most probably a Suzuki GSX1100ESD, around 1983 vintage, but could be a GSX750ESD as there was one of those too.
X7 if you don't know, you should.

Hello Parsley. Great to see you "again". Must have been over 30 years since I saw you on telly.
Used to love The Herbs. In fact, so much so, that I'm now away to watch some episodes on the youtoob thingy.

Ahh the X7. If my memory is correct it was the first commercially sold 250 to break the ton barrier. Didn't keep that mantle for long when the LC arrived.

You may have submitted just as another member submitted then there will be a clash and one will fail. Just re submit and it should work.Parsley wrote:Ment to say , yes mate the X7 was the first 250 to do a genuine 100 mph I made the wrong choice !!!
