Dielectric grease, Lloydie

Dielectric grease is a non-conductive, silicone-based grease that's designed to seal out moisture and prevent corrosion on electrical connectors.

It also disrupts the flow of electrical current, which makes it good for lubricating and sealing the rubber parts of electrical connectors.

It's commonly used in automotive spark plug wires, recreational and utility vehicles, and electrical systems in aircraft.

I copied the above BTW.

If your memory is good you'll remember me having trouble with my ignition switch on the Storm :)
I tried using Vaseline, but it played up again after a few months. I then used Caig DeoxIt gold on the ignition switch contacts.
So far touch wood I've not experienced any further problems yet, but we have been in the warmer weather period, so winter will be the real test with the damper climate we get down here in Cornwall.

This is what I bought:-

"Caig DeoxIT Gold Contact Cleaning Fluid

DeoxIT® GOLD is a unique conditioning solution that improves conductivity and provides long-lasting protection on gold, base metals and other precious metal contacts and connections (gold, silver, rhodium, copper, bronze, nickel, etc.).

Use on plated connectors, contacts and metal surfaces for maximum performance and protection. Recommended for critical applications where only slight cleaning action is necessary. If the surface looks clean, applying DeoxIT contact cleaner first is usually not necessary. DeoxIT® GOLD is designed to dissolve small amounts of oxidation. Apply DeoxIT® GOLD after DeoxIT® contact cleaner on plated metal surfaces."

Sounds like the biz Chris
