Exhaust fitting

Post by horselg »

My EBay Micron exhaust has arrived and I'm very pleased with it. It appears complete and I can't wait to fit it. I have ordered new clamps as advised. I wanted advice as to whether to use any sort of jointing compound. Can I have your views please.

Thanks.

Try a dry test fit first.

As mentioned ealier I'm sure my Micron link pipe connection to the header section was an interference fit and just clamped up to keep it secure. But yours might differ which you'll find when you try with what you've got.

It was a second hand pair of silencers with link pipes. It does not appear to have had any jointing compound on previously. I was jus t curious to see if people thought it would be a good idea to use anything.
