feeler: New billet lower triple + stem

Hi, I want to check if there is somebody wanting it ...

I just finished new lower triples and stem for my blade forks (fit cbr900rr 92-97) . After instalation I felt significant improvement in handling, and these triples are about 470g lighter over oem.

I have the same CAD draw for 41 mm forks as well, so exact copy can be fitted with VTR forks.

some technical features:
- direct replacement for lower triples
- upper triple will stay the same without modification
- comes with stoppers (not on pictures) and bolts
- horn can be attached to the one of the stoppers at bottom
- material is EN AW 7022 (certal) for clamps, and EN AW 7075 (ergal) for stem

watchout:
- stem is designed to use retaining adhesive (bearing glue) when fitting new lower bearing. I can supply triples with bearing mounted.

Have you done any FEA on the stem design?
I see that the wall thickness of your 7075 stem is considerably greater than the original steel tube, but the steel is significantly less prone to stress corrosion cracking and fatigue cracking.

nothing to do with the height of the bars mate, it's to do with strengthening the forks and front end, when your really cracking on you can feel some flex in the forks with the oem yokes, this lower yoke will hopefully stop the flexing.

good question, as we had lot of discussion of what material to use. We didn´t do FEA on the stem design. Just for explanation, all engineering work was done by my mate, who is doing similar work for automotive. He has the access to the software for this testing, but without proper inputs, it is useless.
So tube thickness is just on safe side, note that all dirtbikes use some Alu alloys for stems as well, and many aftermarket triple trees.

Regarding SCC, this is fair point for UK salty climate and riding all-weather. To prevent stem is easy, I will just put plugs to each side so there is no exposure, I plan to do it on my bike anyway.
