Swingarm linkage plate problems
I can't shift the bolt that attaches the linkage plate to the swingarm. The nut is off but the bolt itself won't move. I've given it a tap on the threaded end (with the nut screwed on a few threads) and I've tried turning it from the allen head end but it feels solid.
I'm assuming it is a bolt and only held together with the nut on the end and not screwed into the swingarm as well.
Do I just use a kin great hammer? I've got a butane torch but don't really want to use it.
Suggestions would be appreciated,
kind regards

I'm assuming the bolt just pushes out. It dosn't need to be unscrewed (once the nut is off)?carmanbikes wrote:I used an impact gun just wizzed it out

WD40 applied. I'm going for a dog walk. Will try again when I get back.

Contrary to popular belief WD40 is not a penetrating oil!KermitLeFrog wrote:WD40 applied. I'm going for a dog walk. Will try again when I get back.

Of the 30 odd cans in the shed, not one is PlusGas (or similar). It'll have to do....Watty wrote:Contrary to popular belief WD40 is not a penetrating oil!KermitLeFrog wrote:WD40 applied. I'm going for a dog walk. Will try again when I get back.
Twatting soon! Stanley 20oz shuttering hammer first, before I get out the enginering hammers.

It moved! I now have a mouldy shock in hand. I took the top shock mount nut off and dropped the lot down through the swingarm.
That's enough for today.

Re: Swingarm linkage plate problems
Good work. Quite often you just mushroom the end of the bolt and then it won't go through anyway.....The trick is to grease with copper grease on installation, then it comes out easy.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
