Hello from the Garden of England

Post by stokesy »

Newbie alert
Having tried a numbner of bikes over the past 15 years, (not counting the ER50, Fizzy and Puch Grand Prix when i was a Yoof) I am a confirmed Twin rider!
Bikes enjoyed
SV650, Aprilia Falco, Aprilia RSV, TL1000s, TL1000R, Vstrom 1000,

Bikes appreciated
Thunderace, ZRX1200s, Fazer 1000, VFR 800, Super Tenere

Bike I wish I had never seen
Built a Hardtail chopper with Z650 doner, lots of time and money wasted (this was my Orange County chopper phase)

Over Christmas surfing a popular auction site I stumbled across a firestorm, made an offer and that was that.
Another impulsive buy

Picked up at new year, no mot, been standing for 5 months, bit untidy, siezed brakes etc etc im sure you know the story

Found you guys, read a few threads, gained a bit of knowledge and not she runs, rides and stops, simply need an MOT, bang in a few miles then its off to try the Nurenberg in April.

The good news is that as I have tidied her up I ahve found a number of unexpected upgrades
Hyperpro front and rear
1/4 turn throttle
Dyno stage 1
Hugger
Speed Healer
Steering Dampner

SO it appears someone has lavished some time and cash in the past, Im keen to see how she handles, but I can lift the front on the driveway in 1st :D

Drinks on me

The more the merrier in our neck of the Suvvern woods.

Which bit, though?
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
