seat lowering
seat lowering
hi all looking for advice on lowering seat height. not only old and grey but a bit of a short butt as well .my inside leg 29" thanks ken. i shall now brace myself ready for comments I am about to get for my inside leg measurement.
Re: seat lowering
You can get adjustable dog bones, or a shorter shock- Hagon will do one- or if you only need a small lowering, just have the seat reupholstered with thinner padding.
The bike's, not yours....

It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

thanks Tony, I think hagon shock will be a bit pricey but I will look into your other options thanks kentony.mon wrote:You can get adjustable dog bones, or a shorter shock- Hagon will do one- or if you only need a small lowering, just have the seat reupholstered with thinner padding.

told you not to but oh no you knew better
Re: seat lowering
If you've not done so already, check that the previous owner has not fitted a spacer on the top shock mount to raise the rear end. If you have one it'll be between the top shock mount and the frame,
Chris.
Chris.
Re: seat lowering
If it's still got the original shocker then it's probably past its best anyway. Fit a Hagon and you'll be amazed how much better the rear suspension will be.baycat wrote:thanks Tony, I think hagon shock will be a bit pricey but I will look into your other options thanks kentony.mon wrote:You can get adjustable dog bones, or a shorter shock- Hagon will do one- or if you only need a small lowering, just have the seat reupholstered with thinner padding.

Two bikes, still only four cylinders!

Re: seat lowering
id try the seat foam first. its the cheapest and if you change the dog bones to lower the rear the bike will handle like a wheelie bin

I'm so unlucky that if there is such a thing as re-incarnation I'll come back as me!
Re: seat lowering
If you need to keep your bike on the road, I have a seat base ready for recovering you can have.
