Over head lifting.

Post by StormingHonda »

Right it seems now that I will need to remove the engine from the Fireblade as it looks like the valve seals or some of the valve seals in the head may be leaking, I need something I cam suspends the bike with whilst I remove the engine, as aparently its impossible to remove the head whilst the engine is attached, so the swing arm needs to come off the bike, the only way I can think of do this is to suspend the bike from the sub frame and front engine whilst I take out the engine.

Any ideas or has someone got a set up I can see, I need to do this in my garage.

Got any beams/joists you can throw a ratchet strap over?
I'm so unlucky that if there is such a thing as re-incarnation I'll come back as me!

Removing engine in the garage. All process took 8 hours. This is fast forward version.
It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

Thanks for the ideas, the biggest problem is the swing arm is bolted onto the back of the engine, and its a braced custom swing arm so the shock is bolted to the swing arm to the linkage, so thats going to have to come off.

The wooden frame is a good idea.
