Pootling about the other day ,in the middle of Nowhere and I drove past this old place. I think loads of villages would have had a little garage like this. Proper history!

There's an old Garage like that in Battle E Sussex. Remember the days when you could go an fill up a can with Paraffin from a pump too.

It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

Back in the day I could "field strip" the carb on my FS1-E at the side of the road and have it all back together in 5 minutes. Seems no matter what you did, put the oil in first/last/shake the bike like buggery, a great dollop of that shot of 2 stroke oil would sink to the bottom and fill the float bowl within a mile of the garage. Cover off, pull carb and empty oil back into the tank. Ah, happy days.......lumpyv wrote:oh yeah , Hammond Brothers (mopeds and cycles). he put a gallon of petrol in your moped turned a needle on the oil dispenser , 5 to 1 ,10 to 1, 20 to 1 etc etc gave it one pump into the fuel tank and that was your mixture. my dad bought a brand new puch maxi on H.P off himbigtwinthing wrote:ha ha yep, can you also remember getting an oil shot (in the Red triangular can) added to the fuel too. ah happy days !cybercarl wrote:There's an old Garage like that in Battle E Sussex.
