Instrument panel lights

Post by Twidly »

Hey, vie recently changed the bulbs in my instrument panel. all the bulbs work except for the 3 that light up the rear of the clocks, i was doing it during the day with the bike switched off. i was wondering if there's a requirement for them to turn on I.E Low light levels? i tried putting a towel over it to see if that helped but nothing... prior to the bulb change on 1 out of the 3 worked in the dark and i cant get that one to light up with the original or new bulb

No low light malarky on these...

Try removing the bulb & turning it around in the holder...Turn it on before putting it back in the socket to see if it works...If not try a different bulb.

I've had it in the past with LED ones they only work one way...

Incandescent bulbs like stock will work either way, but rotating them in teh socket may allow for a better connection so give it a try.
LED aftermarket lights are polarized and will only work one way..after plugging them in and testing before putting cluster back together the light doesn't work, remove and rotate 180 deg and it should.
