Lift bike for the winter

Hi all!

I have bought a Honda VTR1000 a couple of months ago. Now I have parked it in my garage for the winter.
My question is, what should I buy to lift it up? Both so that the tires don't stand on the same spot and for a bit of maintenance. I bought two lift-thingies (don't know what they are called in english), but they don't fit.

Padock Stands...?

They are normaly unversal so should fit as they are ajustable. Unless you bought ones with hooks, then you will need to fit bobbins to the bike to use them.

This will allow you to get the rear wheel off the ground & then just use a jack under the sump to raise the front...

Failing that just park it on carpet or wood to keep the tyres off bare concreate.

I agree with Mac, the bike should be stored upright if possible and put a barrier between the tyres and ground like wood or poly packing.

If you are going to keep off the road for a fair few months, I tried firing her up every week till the fan kicked in, but this kills the oil, so now I winterise the storm.

Run the bike till hot
Let cool, bags over exhausts to stop moisture ingress.
Change oil and filter,
Drain carbs
Either Drain tank of fuel and spray inside with rust inhibitor, or fill to the top(stops rusting if there is no exposed surface).
Pull plugs and drop some engine oil in cylinders, turn over by hand to coat barrels, replace plugs.
Battery on smart charger.

Ended up buying the abba stand with a front lift arm.

Seems much better than the paddock stand I was looking for
