Spring Compressor

Post by Mav617 »

Hi,

Anyone recommend a decent, cheap, spring compressor tool? Looking to change the stock spring rather than the whole shock unit.
I'm so unlucky that if there is such a thing as re-incarnation I'll come back as me!

I just took it to a bike shop I use. They did it for a tenner which was cheaper than any of the spring compression tools I saw.
If you don't try you never know if you can do it.

Careful how you go Mav, remember those springs are under a lot of pressure when they are compressed,

Ratchet straps, works a treat and only need less than a centimetre of compression to remove. One each side does the trick.
If it aint broke, get your bloody hands off it!
