Trying to press on with the rebuild of my storm after replacing the valves etc following a cct failure by the previous owner!!!
Got the cam covers back on this morning and tried to fit the carbs. - could i get thrm to slip into the collars. - no chance. Could get either one on but notvthe other - tried greasing the collars etc and still no go.
The collars are rock hard so there is no play to allow the carbs to slide on - is this normal that they are so hard?.
I have mow removed them from the cylinder heads and they will barely slip over the carbs .
Am i into buying new?
Also a quick question re routing of the rear choke cable - is it routed under the carb?
I had such plans for today !!!!
Thanks
Brian

Re: help!!!!! Im stalled !!!!!
Get the hairdryer on them...Its still pretty cold today and the dryer should help them to become a little more supple.

Note to self
Read the bloody instructions !!!!!!!
Having struggled to fit the carbs i then realised i had forgotten to fit the plastic covers !!!!!
So off with the carbs, fit the covers then back on with the carbs.
Least i managed to also fit the oil cooler as well so progress is happening !!!!
Complete day with no work tomorrow so hopefully i can move things on a bit

I boil them then fit them while still warm and always use lube :-)AMCQ46 wrote:it is normal.
