Hello from WA
Live in Perth WA....Swapped my 97 Ducatic 900SS for a 2005 VTR1000 about 2 months ago and feel I got the best of the bargain. Bike v well maintained .... bits and pieces of aftermarket stuff chief of which is the brilliant sounding yoshi exhausts.. love em. The intro comments about cam chain tensioners and the linkage greasing issue got my attention so thanks for that, and look forward to finding tips on the forum
when I need to do some maintenance. Brilliant bike so far and looking forward to doing some country rides as the weather warms up.. depths of winter here at the moment

Welcome Dave from a fellow down under member.
Like you I have owned Ducs and one thing with the Honda is that you get a lot more riding time.
Does your bike have a spacer fitted to the rear shock ? This is a simple mod that helps the bike turn in a lot quicker .
Also check your TPS setting , should be about 500 Ohms, a multimeter helps here.
With a bit of fettling these bikes are a very good bike.
Good luck and once again welcome to a great forum !

Thanks mate, looks like the chap I swapped the bike with was quite a serious track man and I think all the tweaks that can be done, have been. Bike handles very well and dare I say, better than the Duc, possible exception the brakes.kenmoore wrote:Welcome Dave from a fellow down under member.

Enjoy the bike, one thing not mention is the regular rectifier,. Make sure it has cooling fins on it.
