High level MIG's

Hi guys

I came across this UK based ad on e-bay for a set of high level MIG's for the Storm.
Maybe the seller is someone on here?
I really like the tight fit of the MIG's, but I know next to nothing about them
I assume some spacers for the pillion pegs are necessary, and none are shown in the pics.

What are your thoughts and/or experience with MIG's?

Hiya Martin.

I have no experience with MIGs, but by a strange coincidence, I purchased a set of Remus high mounts from this seller just last week. They're currently en-route to me via courier - verified by tracking. I mention this just to assure you that the seller is legit (I was concerned about zero feedback) and I have had good communication with him. Will update this thread after I receive the pipes.

I had high level Migs on my first FireStorm about 1998.
They were fine, a bit loud, but so what, they came with a bracket that did not allow the passenger pegs to be re mounted.

Nigel, from memory you will need some spacers and long bolts if you want to put the rear foot pegs back on. i have some

One of my Storms came with carbon Migs fitted...

As you can see it has the rear pegs fitted...the cans mount via the hangers...

Longer bolts & some ally tube to make the spacers...

Tony Mons had Carbon Migs on his Storm... They are loud, very loud. The Carbon is very thick & good quality

As I've mentioned to others, they totally transform the bike's appearance. I consider myself fortunate, because they seem reasonably hard to find now, but I'm sure some of you guys have about 3 sets stashed away as spares!!

They're not always as loud as the ones I ran!
I saved on the weight of baffle wool.

The carbon sleeves are much thicker than the sleeves on other brands of carbon can, so stand up to v twin exhaust pulses. If the entry end rivets are slightly loose, don't worry, just shorten the sleeve and redrill and rivet.

Yip, set of ally ones in the shed, need some tlc to the finish. Lazer carbon are on at the moment and a set of standards. What else is required

The steel baffle tube ( the one with holes throughout that runs the length of the can internally) eventually rotted on mine, but you can buy lengths of stainless baffle tube and rebuild.

I like the way that, visually, they slim down the fat looking tail plastics. I also painted the underside of the tail plastics dark grey to help the effect.

They're nice cans, with a deep note, but sharp, not wooly or fluffy.

Also, no visible can carrier band, as they use an aluminium bracket bolted to the rear of the can, through the sleeve to an internal bracket.

Thanks Martin. I was following the tracking but they got held over in the depot until tomorrow (Mon). Will be doing some serious work then!!
