mjvw wrote: Sun Feb 06, 2022 9:15 am Fuel pipe cut off on this pic. The wider pipe is the petrol tank overflow runs down lefthand side of bike venting at front left of bike the smaller goes to a T piece going to fuel tap and rear carb that creates the vacuum for fuel tap to work.
2002 model no physical on/off tap.

Rubbish... In that pic which is a 19ltr tank as stated. that smaller pipe is still the breather pipe & not the vac pipe. With the later bike the petcock is mounted on the frame & not the tank. The vac pipe still runs from the crank case to the petcock...

The big diffrence is when removing tank you only have to take one pipe off the pet rock...it will pish all the fule out of the tank unless you clamp it...

Thanks, MacV2 you have explained it better then I can my smaller pipe does go to the vac take of just under the rear carb and is T pieced to fuel unit, and it is a 2002 that has the larger 19l tank.
Just wanted to help as the OP as a 2004 spec storm.

mjvw, the OP is is confused enough as it is, the standard bike does not have a T-peice... Neither Sirch or myself were aware that it was a later bike so the pics posted of the pipework will be of no use...

To add to your pipe count it sounds like you still have the PAIRS gubbins fitted. Thats the anti smog shite fited to the later bikes. Some photos would be a good idea.

This can be taken off but you need to blank pipes off where ness.

Search for PAIRS deleat... search.php?st=0&sk=t&sd=d&sr=posts&keyw ... move+PAIRS

Some good clear photo's here from the Superhawk site of how the fuel lines etc go as well as other hoses under the petrol tank:
