Hello!

Post by RB5_245 »

Hi, Just joined up after getting a link from scoobynet.

I've got a red R plate Firestorm with the full fairing, red bubble and twin scorpion high level cans.

Only bought it last october so not had a summer to play yet, looking forward to it. It's my first big bike after spending a year wheezing about on an RF400.

It came down to a toss up between this and a ZX7R, I made the right choice just needs a bit more 'go' really.

What a noise... I actually recorded it starting and have it as my alarm clock, about the only thing that doesn't piss me right off at 6.45 in the morning!

:D

Welcome aboard, I also have Scorpion high level can's which I'm very pleased with. It would be nice to see a picture or two :!:

Some owners from this site have geared their bikes down to get that bit extra umph at a small sacrifice on top end by either increasing the number of teeth on the rear sprocket or decreasing the front sprocket by one tooth, (I personally prefer the rear sprocket mod as the front sprocket mod will make the drive chain work that much harder as it will need to turn in a tighter circle) the latter being the favourite because its a cheaper mod. Beware though if you do this mod your speedo readings will be out. If you want more info on that mod do a search as there are quite a few posts on it :!:

I don't think I'd shorten the gearing, I quite like it as it is

Inverness is not even an hours drive for me so it's always a possibility if I happen to be home. I rarely get home so any excuse for a good run is always welcome.

I actually bought the bike in inverness too....
