Yet another Newbie

Post by JohnnyB »

Hi All,
A guy at work has offered to buy my Hornet so my chance has come to finally get a 'Storm :D
Hopefully I'll be out shopping for one in a few days time.
Apart from the CTC and water leaks, is there anything I should be looking out for on the older models (apart from the usual you'd check out on any bike) ?
Also, what are the tyres of choice for all round use? My commute to work is 25 miles of fast A road and 50 miles of the M4 (yawn) - I only do it one or two days a week but it takes up a good proportion of the mileage that I cover.
All advice much appreciated !

Cheers

John

Hi JohnnyB

You've pretty much covered it all. The Storm's an excellent purchase (as everyone here will agree). You'll love it!

There are a billion threads around on tyres, so not much point going into it again here, but I'm a fan of the Pilot Powers (going to try the Sports next go 'round).

Welcome to Stormdom!

Thanks guys,

BTW, a perpetual argument in the Hornet forum is which is the fastest colour. What is THE colour Storm to have?

That's the politically correct answer, Chris, but nobody cares about that  .

The real answer is yellow (that's the lovely rich golden yellow...).

But you will actually find more threads "the best colour" than you will on tyres, or CCTs or any other single topic...

 Welcome Aboard
I'm sure you'd much better streaking up the M4 on a super cool Black one  Just keep an eye out for those pesky yellow ones in the rear view mirror. They won't be able to pass you but they all suffer illusions of grandeur and think they can.
