Aren't footballers a big bunch of softies?

When Beckhan broke a bone in his foot it was the same weekend that Chris Walker broke the same bone in practice. Beckham was out for 6 weeks
Walker was back on track within 2 hours and got a good placed finish in the race the next day!

The stalker is a tough wee sh1t. I saw him at Knockhill being carried out his motorhome by 2 mechanics and lifted onto his kawasaki cos he had 2 busted feet from a huge highside. Got a 4th or a 5th that race.

Wayne Rooney - ZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Rich.

Agreed... I couldn't care about footballers. No respect for them at all. The merest whiff off another players bootlace and they're on the deck rolling around like their leg fell off.

Wayne Rooney. *sigh* he's a sporting "hero" to many kids (who have never heard of people like Chris Walker or Dougie Lampkin) and I find that just wrong. It's perfectly OK to be a piece of chav scum with no respect for women as long as you can kick a ball around.

And the ape mentalitied followers of these "heros" (often identified by their beer fuelled mating call of Roooooooooney! before trying to pick a fight with you) aren't much better.

I hate football with a passion. I've never been beaten up at a BSB meeting.

F*ck the world cup.

sorry... I'll just go and quietly lie down over here for a while...

Do you really think all professional footballers are women hating Chav Scum? Definitely falls into the sweeping generalisation category.

If there was a team that played in all black would you support them :D

As for them being softies, there's a difference between doing something whilst in pain (albeit injected with painkiller) like numerous bike racers and other sportmen do, and hitting something repeatedly with a broken bone (which is what a footballer would be doing with a broken toe).

As far as I'm concerned, Rooney is a top footballer who may miss out on the biggest tournament there is, and thats a shame.

I am getting REALLY tired of hearing about it on every news bulletin though :x

I never said all... some are great ambassadors for sport. And yeah, lol, being a goth, I support the referree :)

I know proper injuries (like Rooney suffered) are a big deal for a footballer as it affects them in a big way, but the softies thing is something that irks me that many "professional" players if they get anywhere near an opposing player in the box, will be on their backs faster than Chantel in a TV producers office.

No denying that Rooney et al have skills (they must do to command the massive salaries they get, manging execs wont pay them for nothing) but it just winds me up how much emphasis is on football and footballers in this country. The amount of crap that goes along with football is just too much.

As their off-pitch antics are often reported, is there a worse role model for kids? Sportsmen have a duty to impress off the field as well as on it.

And.... I've never seen a pissed up group of bikers wandering around the Brands Paddock shouting "Riz-Er-Laaa" before taking a swing at somebody who just happens to be different to them.

Foggy fans spring to mind!

Point taken on all the B*llocks that surrounds football though
