Hello everyone..

Post by feef »

Hi people.

new member, saying 'hi'

Picking up my Firestorm tonight, and looking forward to it, as it's one bike I've lusted after since it was launched.

it's going to be a nice addition to the stable.

Look forward to picking your collective brains, as it's not my primary machine, so might end up a bit of a project. I've already seen a couple of posts in Workshop about SSS, bigger tanks and other lovely mods that sound really tempting.

that will be tomorrow. Riding it into work, as my commute takes in some fun roads (although it won't be taxed until Lunchtime :? ) and then my usual Tuesday evening blat around the countryside with a few mates, ending up at the Chippy in Godmanchester :D

I dont live n godmanchester... we just meet there at the chippy, cos it's cheaper and less busy than the Huntingdon marina on a tuesday night :D

I lived near Glasgow until jan '05, so i'm still exploring the roads around here

rather than hijhack the other thread, and since i've got this all to myself, i might as well tell you about my bikes in here :D

Thunderace: '98 model, 58000 miles, and on it's second engine after the original one munched 2nd gear at around 27k. I got the bike from a friend in March '05; was a complete bargain, as he was emigrating and HAD to get rid of it. I got it with 46k on the clock, and put 11k on last year including 2000 miles around france, 2-up, camping  .
mods: Forks dropped thru the yokes by 1/2 ", resprung forks, and a custom rear shock. PMF cast iron disks all round (fully floating on the front) braided hoses, rearsets, Airblade double bubble, and Remus ti end can.

FJR1300:
Bought this in March this year. 53 plate, and now has 48000 on the clock (put 6000 miles on since I got it) this is my 'main' bike and commuter.
mods: All comfort stuff: taller screen, heated grips, fender extender, 'hotwings' for deflecting the hot air off your legs, feet guards, couple of power sockets, autocom and radio and full luggage (although the topbox mound is cracking and needs either repairing, or replaicing with the Givi unit I've got upstairs)

FZR400:
project for the gf. runs, needs a new forkseal. got it for pennies :D

cb125 Superdream:
Was for the gf to ride on a provisional, but might get sold to make space for the Firestorm. Needs new indicator, fork seals reaplacing, a new battery and a choke lever.

Been riding since '02, had a GPZ 500 after I passed my test, but hit a car head on, on a left hander 4 months after passing my test, and was out of riding till march last year. Since then I've done almost 20000 miles, and a track day, all without incident.
