I ordered a sprocket and chain kit today - standard front and 44 rear sprocket. Should probably have thought about this earlier - Will I need a longer chain?
Any feedback from people who has done it will be appreciated.
Johan.

Good news and bad news I'm afraid mate
The bad news is yes, you WILL need a longer chain
A +2 rear sprocket will just squeeze on with a std chain but a +3 (-ie 44tooth) won't fit
The good news is the difference it makes is astounding, I defy you not to love it

I've got an inferiority complex
But its not a very good one!

Thanks Stormin Ben, carrier of good and bad news. Hopefully I can catch the order before it leaves the shop tomorrow morning. Otherwise maybe go for a 15 front to make it really worth my money.
I'm heading off to Interlaken, Switzerland 5 tot 10th October. New Diablos, chain, sprocket, Remus Titaniums high/medium levels and an oil change should do the trick. The sprocket should come in helpfull with teh other two bikes going along - Aprillia Mille and Capanord.
Not taking any luggage, just a small rugsack for the paperwork/maps and underpants, not a weekend of sighseeing but just the last good run for the year.

Yep 15 44 fits great, i recently changed mine too, BIG diference, BIG grin factor, and did a rol on down the A15 against a TL1000 in top gear, from about 40mph ish and it just fecked off into the distance, totally transforms the bike handling too, find mine drops into corners a bit quicker and holds a tighter line too

Ended up going for a 15/43 and standard chain length. Got the chain and front sprocket today should have the rear sprocket by the weekend Also putting the Remus cans back on, to many sleepy drivers in the mornings that doesn't know off you when you even pass them.
Cleaned and greased the swingarm and linkage arm bearings also. Was easier than previous bikes to get the bolts out, I've had bikes with lower miles that wasn't as easy.
