I cannot find an open source distribution which is the balance of ease of use, yet where I can tinker and have fun when I want.
Currently I have FreeBSD. That may change though. What do you non-Windows folk use?
Ps. I was considering finding a RISC system, I heard those were brilliant.
I'm unhappy.
I'm back using xp at the moment but I've used Suse, redhat / fedora and ubuntu quite a lot in the past with varying degrees of success. All the new distros seem to work almost perfectly straight out of the box.
Dont know much about risc systems but I do know Apple have are moving towards Intel architecture. Probably only a financial thing but I cant see risc being around in the future. Shame. Most of the big distros have a risc version so there should be something out there for you.
