you may rememberthat i posted up about my firestorm making a nasty tapping sound after having a oil change and rear cct changed.
well, after taking the bike back to the shop and telling them they have damaged it somehow. they replaced the rear and the front cct, checked behind the clutch cover and replaced a small tube/bolt thing. they checked the valves and the top of the cams (i think).then just for good measure they removed the belly pan to check for any metal fragments.......
after all that, its still making a nasty tapping and they dont know what else to check without it costing silly money....
if anyone has any other ideas of what it could be, i would be most greatfull.
just incase anyone was wondering it isnt burning oil or water and there is no smoke.
also if its any help i did a recording with my phone and here is the link.

me again, sorry.
That doesnt sound the same as my CCT when it was playing up......Excessive clutch rattle maybe or a bearing/follower worn out somewhere causing some piston slap?
I am sure someone with more expertise will be along soon to have a listen and will be able to at least point you the right way. Doesnt sound like my CCT did tho. VeetyR

sorry to be pedantic,Excessive clutch rattle maybe or a bearing/follower worn out somewhere causing some piston slap?

What is the oil like - any bits of metal in it? A failed bearing would poss leave traces there.
Is the sound the same with the clutch in and out?
Try putting a large screwdriver to your ear (pointy side down please) and touch the other end whgere you THINK the sound is coming from as that is a way to pinpoint it.
Two bikes, still only four cylinders!

the oil is clean and they took belly pan off and found no trace of metal. What is the oil like - any bits of metal in it? A failed bearing would poss leave traces there.
