Thank you all you vtr 1000 org people

I raced my vtr 1000 this year and Jamie's got some of the good bits, but I wish I had made more of an effort to use this site. Must say you have all been most reasonable with my efforts to offload the bits, hopefully this post will get me to 50 so I can answer some messages! I have been singing the ...

Re: 43 tooth rear sprocket

Re: Winter

also i realised i could put junk posts on to get up to 50 but the moderator correctly removed a post i put up earlier.
so i wanted to behave myself.
i would rather sell the bits to people who are into VTRs.

Re: Winter

thanks, I still have some bits left but I don't have 50 posts so I cannot reply to personal messages. I have reached 45 or so and I will (assuming all is OK) put the other bits on the sale and wanted section when I reach 50.

Re: I changed the footrests and I was amazed how easy it was

Yes I searched my garage for spindles but the only thing I could find we're sv650 engine mounting bolts which were not long enough.

Re: Alternative throttle cable

I have a venhill quick action throttle on mine. They supply all you need in the kit to make the cables - but it is not a simple task. Usually you solder the ends on but with stainless steel cables getting solder to stick can be really difficult. You pass the cable through the end hole, splay it a bi...

I changed the footrests and I was amazed how easy it was

I decided to put the standard footrests back on my bike and realised you have to take the swing arm spindle out.... A front paddock stand and a rear paddock stand and a jack under the engine. Jack until you can just feel a bit of resistance. That way the bike doesn't cave in when you take the spindl...

Re: Death Row

i read somewhere that Frank Sinatra's version of My Way was supposed to be the unofficial most requested last song for convicted criminals in the US. In Australia recently the catholic church was getting rather annoyed with contemporary songs being played at funerals and banned all of them. apparent...

Re: Fitting braided lines - difficult?

if you have friends/relatives who work at a hospital, terrific stuff for bleeding brakes is UNIVERSAL GREEN OXYGEN TUBING as it is viable in diameter - it gets wider then thinner, wider than thinner - so it always fits a nipple tightly. you cut it at the correct diameter point. you connect it to a 6...

Re: Fitting braided lines - difficult?

NB. don't fully tighten up the banjos etc until you are absouletly sure you have everything in the correct position. if your lines run from the master cylinder and you need to reposition them, you don't want to have tightened down and squashed the copper washers and then find you need to release the...
