Cooling system

My sprint bike is currently running without a cooling system. The previous owner ran it like this without problem so i'm told. As i want to run the bike at Wings and Wheels this year i need to refit the cooling system. Has anyone got some pics of the rad and hose fitting/routing? Is it possible to r...

Re: another starting problem

Ok, i don't dispute what you're saying. The TRX has the same issue with tight valves causing starting problems, but it never gives that low compression. I can't see why a tight clearance will cause low compression. It will advance the valve timing and effect the over lap, but i can't see that being ...

Re: another starting problem

Before you start messing with valve clearances do a wet compression test. Squirt a few pumps of oil into the bores and recheck the compressions. If the reading goes up by a marked amount then your problem is bottom end not top. I would have thought that any clearance will insure the valve is closed...

Re: Sorry help needed with my winter hack!

I would put money on the thermostat being stuck closed, not allowing water to pass through the radiator. Conduction will cause the top hose to get hot, but if the rad and bottom hose are cold then water is not circulating. Even if the water pump was not working the system would still thermosyphon an...

Re: Greeting

Thank you for the welcome  Thanks for the advice Tony. The guy i got the bike from was surprised when i asked him about the clutch issues. He is a very experienced sprinter and has run everything from turbo GSX's to 2.0l Harleys 8O I would think he would just dump the clutch and bang in the...
